- Small Sections may be merged (prizes will be combined and play-up fee will be refunded)
- A player who withdraws during the tournament is not eligible for prize money
- Players must play at least 2 rounds to be eligible for prizes

Quads Section & Prizes

- Players will be placed into groups of 4 based on USChess published rating supplement for the month in which the tournament starts.
- If the number of players is indivisible by 4, a group will have 3-7 players
- Prize fund is $125 per quad
- Econ entries: Win 50% of the calculated prize
- Unrated players: Max $75

Play-up rules

- Players will be placed into sections based on their published USChess rating supplement
- A player may play up to one higher section. Play-up fee: +$17
- Players' published rating must be within 300 points of the rating cutoff to play up in higher section, and within 200 points in highest section. Double play-up is not allowed.

(Note: The rating used to determine a player may play up is their published USChess rating.)

Bye Rules

- Β½-point Byes are available for any round (maximum 2)
- Byes must be requested at least 1 hour before that round's start except for last round byes; last round bye must be requested latest before Round 3
- 0-point Byes are available for any round (last round 0-point byes are equal to withdrawing)

- A Time Control of G/M dN means each player gets M minutes/game and a delay of N seconds/move (before the clock starts ticking).
- All players must have a US Chess (USCF) ID to play.
- Notation during game is mandatory
- Clocks are not mandatory but we recommend you bring your own. BAC does not loan out clocks except the last 10 minutes of the round. You must know how to set your own clock to the correct time control.
- Econ players may upgrade to Regular before the tournament begins. (Please note that a change fee and the balance difference will apply.)
