Participants

This is an invitational tournament for any CalChess members:

Denker Qualifier: any player in Grade 9-12 with rating over 2000+;
The winner of the Denker is the official Northern California representative in the Denker Tournament of High School Champions (more info: Denker Championship)

Barber Qualifier: any player in Grade K-8 with rating over 1800+;
The winner of the Barber Qualifier is the official Northern California representative in the Barber Tournament of K-8 Champions.

Sections & Prizes

Barber & Denker
1 section for players with USCF rating over 1800 for the Barber Qualifier.
1 section for players with USCF rating over 2000 for the Denker Qualifier.
April 2018 supplemental rating will be used for both Barber and Denker Qualifier.

TD discretion is used to place players who do not meet the rating minimum but within 100 points rating range, and would like to be considered to be eligible for the tournment. Please email us for consideration!

$650 guaranteed for both Barber and Denker Qualifier Tournaments:
$300 to CalChess Representative (player must attend respective National Tournament in order to receive prize)
2nd - $200, 3rd- $100, 4th - $50 to others.

Late fee: After 4/15 +$15

2018 April supplemental and TD discretion is used to place players.
Both Qualifiers are FIDE rated.
