General Information
-
What's New
- The "Super States" will be scheduled over 3 weekends (March 19-20, April 9-10, and April 23-24), instead of one weekend.
- The "Grade Levels" will be scheduled on a weekend after the "Super States".
- Players may play on multiple weekends.
- We will use March 2022 Supplement for all sections.
- There's no play-up fee for players in a higher grade (for 2022 only).
-
What's Expected
- Come as you are! We welcome all players regardless of their rating and playing level.
- USCF membership and CalChess membership are required; if you're not a current member, you must renew/signup with your tournament registration (so we can process and reconcile your entry).
- The Chief Organizer and/or the Chief TD may assign a rating to place players accuately.
- We may adjust round times if needed (but it is unlikely).
- Read Orientation Information before the tournament.
- Be nice to everyone!
-
COVID-19 Protocol
- We will follow the COVID Protocol specified at the Home Page of the Santa Clara Convention Center (for events under 1,000 people).
- Please register ASAP because the registration may close at any time due to health and safety protocols.
-
Financial Transparency
- The entry fees are higher than 2019 (the last in-person "Super States") due to inflation and the extra costs of managing COVID-19 prevention protocols.
- The entry fees for BAC members are lower with sponsorship from Azcelerate Venture Mentors.
